Becks, GSD, Therapy Dog
Becks is a registered German Shepherd. His role in therapy is to provide individuals with a range of physical, mental and social benefits. Becks is able to identify an individual's biomarkers for stress and will engage accordingly. His purpose is to provide therapeutic interaction which helps an individual to increase emotional relief, lower pain intensity, develop cognitive, behavioral and social skills as well as stimulate motivation. Research has shown that therapy dogs help individuals in order to experience enhanced socialization, improved mood, decrease symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, increased independence, enhanced self-esteem and decreased feelings of anger. There are no fees associated with Becks' presence.
